1.1 The name of the voluntary organisation is Norwich InterFaith Link.
2 Aims
To build good relations with people of different faiths and beliefs.
3 Administration
3.1 Administration shall be carried out by a Planning Group.
3.2 The Planning Group will be elected at the Annual General Meeting and will consist of a Chair, Secretary Assistant Secretary and Treasurer, and such other officers as the Council may from time to time determine.
3.3 The Planning Group is accountable for the programme and finances to the InterFaith Link Council.
4 The InterFaith Link Council
4.1 The InterFaith Link Council will consist of members of the Planning Group plus representatives of each faith group allowing for the different denominations, schools and traditions.
5 The InterFaith Link Membership
5.1 The group has an open policy and members of faith communities can belong to the group either as individuals or as an organisation.
5.2 The membership fees are as follows:-
Organisation.............. £20 per annum
Individual............... £5 per annum
5.3 The members' fees are subject to change via a decision taken at the Annual General Meeting to take account of (organisational) change.
6 The roles of all groups under the Norwich Interfaith Link are clearly
defined by the terms of reference.
7 Frequency of Meetings
7.1 The Planning Group - as events dictate.
7.2 The InterFaith Link Council - at least twice per year, one of which must be prior to the Annual General Meeting.
7.3 The InterFaith Link Membership - meets subject to planning group events timetable
7.4 An Annual General Meeting will be held not later than 4 - 6 weeks after the end of the financial year.
8 Election of Officers
8.1 Officers are nominated and seconded by members of the organisation.
8.2 Elections will take place at the Annual General Meeting.
8.3 Officers shall be elected annually and will serve a maximum of three
consecutive years. Officers will not be eligible for re-election to the
same office within a period of one year thereafter.
9 Finance
9.1 A full financial report will be made by the Treasurer at the Annual General Meeting.
9.2 Accounts will be presented at the Annual General Meeting.
9.3 The financial year will commence on 1st April and will end on 31st March of the subsequent year.
10 Amendments
10.1 Amendments to this Constitution can be carried out at either the Annual General Meeting or at an extra-ordinary General Meeting held at a time to be agreed by the Council.
10.2 If necessary, one member, one vote, will apply and 75% of those present
must agree with a motion for it to be carried.
11 Exit Strategy
11.1 Disbandment of the Norwich InterFaith Link is a decision taken by the Council.
11.2 Any remaining funds will be forwarded to the InterFaith Network for the United Kingdom.
